The Challenge
A late request was received by our client who required emergency power support within a six-hour window. Temporary power was needed to ensure 24 cabins on site remained fully functional. The team ideally needed us to supply emergency power within just 24 hours, before the UK went into lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Solution
Our team mobilised immediately. They had to act fast to meet the tight deadlines set and understood the urgent nature of the request. This is a high security site and the team used all their expert knowledge to ensure the right solution was supplied quickly.
They assembled to map out and model the solution. It was vital that the product components were the most effective possible for the task of powering the 24 cabins. The solution devised included:
- A 500 kVA generator with 63 amp leads
- A drop down box to 32 amps
- Distribution boards
- Armoured cable
- Plus additional diesel for the fuel management system
Once the equipment and quantities were decided we also had to deliver it to site the same day to meet the deadline.
The Results
We met the deadline and our customer was delighted by our response. The solution was effective and the cabins were powered adequately.
It was a great team effort which showcases our ability to be responsive and mobilise quickly at a critical time to support customers, whilst delivering a great service.
