Sunbelt Rentals deliver Winter Lighting Success

news 05 Dec 2022

Our Sunbelt Rentals operation, sales, logistics and marketing teams have been working around the clock this Autumn to ensure customers lighting requirements were met, just in time for the darker months ahead.

Together we’ve helped customer reduce fuel consumption, with over 21 thousand litres of diesel saved in October*. That’s contributed to a record amount of CO2 emissions saved, and we’re pleased to report that over 53,000kg of CO2 has been saved so far in October*.

With a fleet of over 4,000 energy efficient lighting towers, the Sunbelt Rentals team have surpassed the number of lights on hire this Autumn, supporting a record number of customer projects from the Shetland Islands to Penzance.

Mike Abbott, Sunbelt Rentals Operations Support Director for Lighting commented: “It’s been a huge team effort and the results have been astounding, but ultimately, it’s our customers who reap the rewards. Not only are we able to deliver innovative, greener lighting solutions, but we’ve also supported our customer to reduce their costs at a time of great economic pressures.

“For now, our customers can continue to “leave the how to us” which is crucial in our efforts to build a better Britain and ensure a greener future for us all”.

With £20M invested in tower lights so far, we are continually exploring new greener technologies and renewable energies such as solar and battery as well as increased efficiencies through lower energy consuming LED lights and Stage V engines.

Our solar and hybrid lighting towers are the most fuel efficient in the UK. Together, through Our Planet - our plan for a sustainable and low carbon future, we’re supporting our customers to achieve greater fuel efficiency, while reducing costs and lowering carbon emissions.

*Savings from the 236 solar lights on hire in October. The comparison is with the fuel usage & CO2 output of a VB9 tower light which is still considered industry standard.
