IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) training is a training program that teaches safe and effective rope access techniques for working at heights or in challenging-to-reach areas.

Anyone over 18 with a reasonable level of fitness can enroll in an IRATA course. Whether you're new to rope access or looking to advance your skills, there are different levels for all experience stages.

There are three levels of certification:
Level 1 is for beginners, focusing on basic rope access skills.
Level 2 is for experienced technicians, covering advanced techniques.
Level 3 is for supervisors, and focuses on managing teams and complex rescue operations.
Each of these levels needs to be revalidated at least every three years to keep skills up to date.

No prior experience is required for IRATA Level 1. It's designed to teach you the basics of rope access from the ground up.

To move up to the next level, you'll need to log a minimum of 12 months and 1,000 hours of work at your current level before advancing to the next one.

Each course typically lasts 5 days, with 4 days of training and 1 day for assessment. The duration may vary slightly based on the level you're taking.
