EUSR Cat 3, 4 & 5: Install, Inpsect & Remove Timber, Steel & Proprietary Support Systems
This course is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge to gain the necessary skills to install and remove timber, steel and proprietary support systems. It covers topics such as planning, preparation, installation and removal, inspection and aims to equip delegates with the knowledge to install and remove timber and proprietary support systems safely and confidently.
The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.
These will include:
- Identify the dangers and hazards associated with working in excavations
- Differentiate between soil types and conditions
- Recognise suitable ground retention systems
- Carry out risk assessments unique to excavations
- Recognise the hazards, and implement control measures for those hazards
- Be able to safely install, inspect, and remove timber, steel and proprietary shoring equipment with practical experience in doing so
- Interpret specific temporary works designs
This course is for delegates, managers and supervisors who are required to oversee or carry out work in or around excavations.
Delegates must have basic spoken and written English skills.
Successful delegates will receive an EUSR photo ID card.
Companies who are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim for a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
