This two-day site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course is designed to cover all relevant legislation and other aspects that affect safe working conditions in building, construction, and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of necessary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce. 

The SSSTS course is endorsed by Build UK and exceeds the standard set by CITB for construction supervisors' training. 

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials. 

Agenda:  

  • Health and safety law, management systems and CDM Regulations 
  • Risk assessments and method statements 
  • Inspections 
  • Reporting Accidents 
  • Occupational health and first aid/emergency procedures 
  • Hazardous substances, noise and vibration 
  • Manual Handling 
  • Fire prevention 
  • Electricity on-site 
  • Plant and work equipment 
  • Lifting operations 
  • Working at height 
  • Excavations and confined spaces 
  • Underground and overhead services 
  • Temporary works 
  • Environmental awareness, including pollution, waste and nuisance 
  • End of course test 

Delegates should hold, or be about to hold, the role of a supervisor. Delegates must be competent in English at the site supervisor level. 

This is a two-day course. Delegates are required to complete the full course to be eligible for certification.

Following the successful completion of the course, delegates will be awarded a digital CITB Site Safety Plus certificate valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, delegates will need to retake the course before the expiry date. 

Companies who are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
