CPCS A17c Telescopic Handler - Novice
This course is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge to operate a Telescopic Handler (Telehandler) correctly. It covers the theoretical and practical elements and is suitable for delegates with limited to no formal instruction or training.
The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.
These will include:
- Operating the machine for all normal tasks.
- Deciding whether a particular load is safe to lift.
- Carrying out routine servicing procedures and maintenance as necessary according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Knowing how the machine works and the maintenance requirements involved.
- Understanding the effect of load, size, weight, gradients, and ground conditions upon machine stability.
- Knowing how to load, store and transport representative materials.
- Understanding the basic construction of pallets.
All delegates must have successfully passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test, often referred to as the touch screen test, within the past two years.
Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
Successful delegates will receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (on successful completion of the CPCS Technical Tests).
Companies that are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
