The Ladder Association Ladders and Stepladders for Users course will provide delegates with the understanding to assess and determine when it’s right to use a ladder or stepladder, how to select and safely use ladders and stepladders, the law and standards, hazards in the use of ladders and stepladders and the safe storage and handling of ladders and stepladders. 

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.

  • Equipment - Leaning Ladders, Stepladders & Combination Ladders 
  • Site – Task - Equipment – People (STEP) 
  • Pre-Use Checks 
  • Storage, Transportation & Maintenance 
  • Personal Hazards 
  • Assessment: 
  • Multiple Choice Questions 
  • Ladders and Stepladders fault finding 
  • Carrying and positioning ladders and stepladders 

This course is suitable for any delegate who uses ladders & stepladders. 

Delegates should be fit and capable of lifting, carrying and manoeuvring ladders and stepladders. 

No qualifications or experience are required for this course. 

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a Ladder Association certificate and LadderCard valid for five years. 

Companies who are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim for a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
