This professional water safety course is designed to provide training to a Legionella Responsible Person in a business and to educate on how to manage the risks posed by Legionella bacteria in the workplace.

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.

These will include:

  • Ensuring that all water systems in use, or not, within the premises under their control are safe and not at risk of becoming dangerously contaminated with legionella.
  • Familiarising yourself with all relevant regulations and guidance, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH, HSG274 and the Health and Safety Executives ACOP L8.
  • Identifying any potential legionella risks within the water systems and taking steps to manage these risks to safe levels through regular testing, appropriate maintenance and control measures, and regular monitoring of the water systems.

This course is suited to the assigned Responsible Person for controlling legionella levels within their workplace or relevant location.

Successful delegates will receive a City & Guilds “Certificate of Attainment” for this Legionella Responsible Persons Training Course.

Companies who are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim for a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
